For every word you successfully solved for another person you banked one to be solved for yourself.
The way it worked was you loaded the program and were sent sleep words to solve.
The simplest that I thought was hilarious was a system I cannot remember the name of called Sleepwalker and Fatigue Operator. Then multiple solutions were found over time. This was a great system at first as it was super annoying, botters had to come back and fill in these captchas. I don't know how many people played classic but they used to force you to sleep in a sleeping bag after X amount of actions or xp. The simple solution to the captcha problem was done a long time ago. At that point, does it really matter anymore if you can’t tell the difference? It’s only a matter of time before botting is completely indistinguishable than a normal player. Especially with RuneScape being such a simple game. Just wait until you’ve been raiding with months with some dude just to find out he’s a complete AI. (Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a problem)īots will eventually become so advanced you won’t be able to tell you’re even playing with a bot in the first place. This is why we see less bottting on rs3 opposed to osrs. The biggest thing that is going to get rid of botting or at least mitigate it, will be completely axing the Java client (which means goodbye runelite) and moving to an nxt or c based solution which will make it a lot harder for bot makers to keep up with, making the barrier of entry for botting a lot harder. Unless there’s a financial incentive for jagex to get rid of bots, there simply isn’t going to be development time allotted too it that would actually keep up with the botting. The business doesn’t care about botting, yes this has been said a thousand times, but it’s because it’s true. That being said, the amount of time and effort to be put into the bot nuke all over again just isn’t worth it to the business when bots are also paying to play this game. Anything we do, bots will get more and more advanced in order to circumvent the technologies put in place to prevent them.
